GUILT FREE SNACKS TO KEEP YOU ON TRACK THIS FESTIVE SEASON

How many of you have already started dipping into the box of chocolates that's floating around the office? As the festive season begins to kick in to full swing, for those that have spent most of 2017 trying to create healthier habits the little voice in your head starts to chirp up. Don’t panic, we have created some seriously indulgent recipes that will help you to snack smarter and still satisfy your sweet tooth.

Smarties Cookies

Makes 6 cookies

8 scoops Protein World Slender Porridge
1 scoop Protein World Chocolate Orange Slender Blend
2 tbsp melted Protein World Coconut Oil
2 tbsp almond milk
Pinch of salt
1 big tbsp peanut butter
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda( optional)
4 tbsp coconut sugar or 3 tbsp maple syrup Toppings: smarties and pecans

Method

Preheat the oven to 350 F / 180 C.
Combine all the ingredients in a big bowl and mix until you get a sticky dough. Make cookies and bake 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove from oven and let them cool on a wire rack.

Rice Krispie Bars

Rice Krispie Bars

Makes 4 bars

4 cups brown rice Krispies
3 big tbsp of Protein World Peanut Butter
4 tbsp Protein World Maple Syrup
2 scoops Protein World Vanilla or Chocolate Slender Blend
Pinch of salt

Method

Grease a brownie tray or line it with parchment paper.
Mix all the ingredients in a big bowl until you get a sticky mixture (use your hands).
Pour the mixture into the tray and spread out evenly.
Put the tray in the freezer for at least 1 hour before you cut in to bars.
Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Chocolate coated bars

Milky Bars

Makes 4 bars

For the white filling:
85 grams of almond meal
1 scoop of Protein World Vanilla Slender Blend
Pinch of salt
1/3 cup melted Protein World Coconut Oil
For the caramel:
5 medjool dates (unpitted)
a pinch of salt
1 big spoon Protein World Peanut Butter
1 tbsp water

Method

Make the white filling by mixing all the ingredients in a big bowl until you get a sticky dough.
Scoop the mixture in a brownie tray (layered with plastic). Use your fingers to make a smooth layer.
Place the tray in the freezer for at least 15 minutes.
Make the caramel by mixing the ingredients in a food processor. Add a little water if necessary to help it blend.
Put a layer of caramel on top of the white filling and place it back in the freezer for 1 hour.
Melt dark chocolate.
Cut the 'dough' in bars and dip them in your favourite dark chocolate or drizzle some chocolate on top.
Place them in the fridge for the chocolate to set.
Store in an airtight container in the freezer.
