HEALTHY, ENERGY-FILLED BREAKFAST IDEAS FOR THE MORNING RUSH
‘Just another manic Monday!’ We know the feeling; when the working week comes rolling around we often find ourselves madly rushing out of the house in the morning to get the kids to school/ourselves to work. Hectic schedules mean it’s easy to either miss breakfast completely or grab something from the nearest coffee shop out of convenience. However, this can throw any well-intended plans to eat healthily out the window. Because we at Protein World believe breakfast really is the most important meal of the day, we’ve pulled together our favourites that save on time whilst packing a nutritional punch. Read on for some seriously smart stress-free picks!
Porridge Ready in under 2 minutes, porridge is a great choice for anyone looking for a convenient, healthy breakfast! Oats offer slow-release carbs, B vitamins and fibre to keep you going for longer. Our Slender Porridge also contains chia and flaxseeds for an added fibre boost! Top with a tsp of our Peanut Butter and a handful of berries for an antioxidant hit, and an extra dose of healthy fats and protein! Bircher (Overnight Oats) Prefer a more continental approach to breakfast? Rather than croissants and Danish pastries, go for a Scandi favourite: Birchers. These contain slow-release carbs (again, thanks to the oats) as well as a generous amount of fibre and protein, helping to keep you full during those busy mornings. To make your own simply mix 5 scoops of our Slender Porridge oats with a handful of flaked almonds, some grated apple, 150ml unsweetened almond milk and 50ml water, cover and leave overnight ready to tuck in first thing!
Pancakes Next time you find yourself grabbing breakfast on the go, turn to another comforting classic: pancakes. You can make them the night before and pack them in your Tupperware ready to go. There are also a number of healthier alternative recipe options including banana pancakes, oat pancakes and flaxseed pancakes. OR why not try our quick and easy to make Slender Pancake mix? It's high in protein and will help keep hunger at bay and you feeling fuller for longer. We’ve also added green tea and guarana extract to boost metabolism, as well as vitamins B6 and B12 to reduce tiredness and get you fired for the day. Top with a spoonful of 0% fat Greek yoghurt and a drizzle of our Slender Syrup!
Smoothie Smoothies are a delicious, quick and easy way to pack nutrients into your morning meal. Be careful though; many shop-bought brands are high in sugar and won’t keep you feeling satisfied. In contrast, our best-selling Slender Blend is high in protein and contains no added sugar. It makes the perfect base for smoothies; a current favourite in Protein World HQ is orange, avocado, kale and vanilla Slender Blend with water. Experiment at home by adding different fruits and veggies and share your new Slender Smoothie creations on our social by tagging #PWKitchen. Studies have shown time and time again that those who eat breakfast are more likely to be slimmer, fitter and healthier. Next time you’re looking for a healthy, nutritious and quick breakfast, try one of the above ideas; your taste buds and waistline will thank you!
