The Monday blues. What are they? They’re something made up in your head, that’s what! Along with many of the other negative thoughts and feelings we experience, they’re something that don’t really exist outside of our minds so, if you learn to use your minds properly and unlock your positive mental attitude (PMA), the Monday blues are something that are pretty easy to shake off. I appreciate it’s normal for a lot of people to hate Mondays, but for me it is one of the best days of the week. My Monday is no different to anyone else’s, my alarm still goes off way too early and I still have to spend the whole day at work. But, as I always say, it’s not what you’re looking at, it’s how you see it, and I see Monday as the perfect day to reset. It’s a fresh start to the week and an opportunity to run the week so the week doesn’t run you. It is also the perfect time to start on a new journey.

Want to unlock the best version of yourself? Sick of eating badly and not training? Desperate to feel strong and able to take on the world? What are you waiting for? Changes don’t just happen by magic, you need to take responsibility and light the match. You will never run out of excuses but one day you will run out of tomorrows so seize the day and stop putting off the things you could do right now. One of the best ways to start is by writing down what you want to achieve. Big goals like losing three stone are great, but can seem overwhelming and so far off that you give up before you’ve even started, so break it down. How are you going to do that and how much do you realistically hope to lose each week, for example? Set yourself smaller goals of what you’re going to eat this week, how much you’re going to train, how many healthy swaps you’re going to make etc and it is easier to measure and to track your progress.

So there is your what and your how, now you just need to unlock your why. Your why is one of the most important things of all because it is what keeps you positive and motivated. You want to lose weight, get stronger, get faster, but WHY? Perhaps you want to be a role model for your children or change your life after going down a bad path. Discover your why and revisit it any day of the week when you’re feeling demotivated. Give yourself a pep talk, remind yourself why you’re doing something, and the week is yours. You will be amazed what a little bit of structure, purpose and of course PMA can do for your happiness. Happy Monday guys, now go and get your week!
